Growing up an avid lover of sports, Mikaela frequently found herself at the local physiotherapist. Intrigued by how physio was able to diagnose and treat her injuries, she pursued a career in the profession!
Mikaela moved to Wollongong from Cowra in 2012 to study a Bachelor of Exercise Science and then went on to study a Master Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney.
She is passionate about working with her patients, using an evidence-based, active approach to rehabilitation to help them on their journey. She uses a range of techniques including Dry Needling and Clinical Pilates to help restore each patient to their pre-injury capacity.
The highlight of Mikaela‘s professional career was being the Samoan Team Physiotherapist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics! She has also enjoyed working with a range of local and representative sporting teams including Rugby Union, Rugby League, Football (Soccer) and more recently, netball!
Outside of work you’ll find Mikaela with her beloved fur-baby, Gary or doing something active involving sport, the outdoors, the ocean or food.
