Dr Laura Clarke (PhD)

Sports Physiotherapist

Laura is a Sports Physiotherapist with over 15 years’ experience working with sportspeople and teams up to an elite level. She has worked with a wide variety of Australian Olympic level teams, touring extensively domestically and internationally with swimming, rugby 7s, water polo, soccer and Paralympic sports. She also held the coveted position of Post-Graduate Physiotherapy Scholar at the Australian Institute of Sport in 2008.


Laura recently completed a PhD on risk factors for shoulder injury in Australian Rules Football and has published papers on the swimmer’s shoulder, growth plate changes in the throwing arm of volleyball players and mechanisms of injury to the shoulder in AFL players. She is also passionate about teaching and is a Clinical Educator in the field of anatomy at the University of Wollongong.


When Laura isn’t chasing around after her two sons she can be found playing golf, cycling, running or taking photographs of the many beaches in Wollongong.
